Weight Pull weigh in

Charlie did not think much of being hung up like a piece of meat at the weigh in before the Pit Bull Terrier's club weight pull.

Pit Bull Terrier Club Weight pull

Charlie pulled 1460 lbs or 16 times her weight giving her first place in her 90 lb class and a Q towards a United Kennel Club weight pull title. Charlie had the Pit bull owners nervous she was going to out pull all of them.

Monday, August 31, 2009

I am back from a trip to Bear Lake in Utah. The reason for the trip was to attend a memorial dinner for Nancy's Uncle Byron. Byron was a US diplomat stationed in many places around the world, Italy(during WW II), France and Panama to name a few. During the dinner everyone told their favorite stories about a great man and ambassador for the US. Except me, I never met him and I was way too tired after climbing a mountain that day. Here are some photos.

Last Day at Herding Camp 101

Kathy Warren teaching Charlie how to herd with the big stick. The sheep take out Tom and he is out of there. Charlie checks out the cat poop and makes it look so interesting Kathy has to check it out too. Charlie thinks the big stick is a tug toy. In the end Charlie is getting the hang of fetching those sheep.

"Almost" a qualifying score and first place.

Open Standard Agility Title Run for Charlie

It was not perfect, I had an off course and refusal, but it was good enough for second place and my Open Standard title. The alphabet soup behind my name has less "N"s for novice and more "O"s for Open. It is time to play in the Excellent Ring.

Calamity of Errors in the Standard Agility Run

Tom trips and falls so I jump off the table to check on him then enter the wrong end of the tunnel and then I fall off the dog walk. The rest of the run was great. You have runs like this sometimes.

I passed the Junior Herding Dog Test twice at the BMDCA Specialty April 26 and 27th. So my herding title at the end of my name changes from HCT-s to JHD-s. We are going to Herding Camp next month to learn more control on moving those sheep around.

I had 5 "Q's" (qualifying scores) in Agility the weekend of March 28th and 29th. Here are three runs all 1st place in Standard, Jumpers and Fast.
